Service Mission and Goal

Wellness Islands commits to caring for the holistic wellness of residents in the Islands District. Through the one‑stop case support, groups, and community activities, we serve individuals experiencing emotional distress, persons who are in mental recovery, and carers. We aim to help them building mutual‑support networks, strengthening their confidence, recognizing their strengths, and contributing their abilities within the community.

 

Service Highlights

  • Drop-in services, outreaching visit and counselling support;
  • Organization of therapeutic groups, supportive groups, social and recreational programmes, and community linkage activities;
  • Pre-vocational training and occupational therapy services;
  • Peer support services and clinical psychological services;
  • Community and public education programmes to promote mental wellness;
  • Referral of cases to the Community Psychiatric Service of the respective Hospital Authority cluster for clinical assessment and psychiatric treatment; and
  • Nursing Services, including counselling on medication and drug compliance.

 

Service Region

Island Wellness will serve the entire Islands District EXCEPT the following regions:

  • Tung Chung New Town Extension (West), Yat Tung Estate (I & II) and Moon Tung Estate
  • Cheung Chau
  • Siu Ho Wan Depot
  • Lantau Island West – the western part along the ridge from Tung Chung Bay to Tung Wan via Nei Lak Shan, Lantau Peak, Kau Nga Ling and Tung Wan Mei (major regions include: San Tau, Sha Lo Wan, Sham Wat, Tai O, Yi O, Fan Lau, Shek Pik, Ngong Ping)

 

Target Group

The target service users of the Service are persons living or attending schools in the serving district, including:

  • Persons in Mental Recovery / Persons with suspected mental health problems, aged 15 or above;
  • Secondary school students with mental health needs;
  • Family members and carers of the above;
  • Local residents interested in enhancing their mental well-being; and
  • Residents of private Residential Care Homes for Persons with Disabilities (RCHDs) who are persons in mental recovery or persons with suspected mental health problems.

 

Application

  • Apply for services directly at the center; or
  • Be referred by Doctors, Social Workers, Allied Health Professionals, or Government Departments.

 

Service hours

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 9:30am – 5:30pm

Wednesday 1:30pm – 9:30pm

Sundays and public holidays (One additional service session will be arranged on a designated holiday each month. Please refer to our monthly activity schedule for details.)

 

Withdrawal

  • Request to withdraw from the service directly with the center staff.
  • Referred to appropriate services if any other welfare is needed.

 

Fees

Free of charge, but some activities may require a fee depending on their content.
